Luis Rivera
1938 – 1992

Born in Los Angeles, Rivera studied with Michael Brigante and Luisa Triana, then moving to New York he danced at the 1964 New York World’s Fair and with the Jose Greco Dance Company. He also performed in films and television. In 1970 he formed his own company, the Luis Rivera Spanish Dance Company, performing with two women Flamenco dancers and several musicians. They traveled extensively in Europe and the Americas performing both traditional Flamenco and Spanish Classical dance in beautifully detailed period costumes.
