As a dancer, teacher, and choreographer, Ed Mock developed a style that has influenced several generations of performers and artists. An extremely popular performer and teacher in San Francisco, he specialized in improvisation, mixing modern dance with mime, storytelling, and voice. His choreographed works include The Blacks (1973); Festival of Fools (1980); Tight Like That (1985); and many others. A photography book and documentary film about Mock are in the works.
