Michael Peters

Michael Peters danced with Alvin Ailey, Bernice Johnson, and Fred Benjamin, among others, before turning to an award winning career as a choreographer. He and Michael Bennett shared a 1982 Tony Award for Best Choreography for their work on the Broadway musical Dreamgirls. He was recognized for choreographing Michael Jackson’s Thriller and Beat It and won primetime Emmys for Outstanding Choreography in 1987 and 1993.
